Student Machine Shop Physics majors may have a carrel in Jadwin Hall (the main physics building) and can access departmental and university computing resources from throughout the campus. There is a "student shop" which offers a (non-credit) course in the use of machine tools. Students with an experimental bent are encouraged to take this course and are then able to actively participate in the construction of experimental apparatus. There is a graduate course in electronics (physics 557), open to undergraduates, which prepares students to design and build the sophisticated electronics required in modern experiments.

McDonnell Lecture Hall Our recently constructed McDonnell Hall is a modern educational facility where all of the undergraduate physics lecture rooms and laboratories are located. The building houses two lecture halls equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia facilities. See details.

Carrels for physics majors are available in the library and on the 4th floor of Jadwin Hall. Moreover, a few "majors" rooms with desks and lockers are available at the A Level of Jadwin. Carrels and desks are assigned at the beginning of the academic year.

Majors are also assigned mailboxes in the lobby of Jadwin Hall.
